Daily vehicle check

Both you and your driver are legally responsible for ensuring that a vehicle is roadworthy and maintained so that it complies with the law at all times. There are severe penalties for failing to do so. No matter how efficient the company’s maintenance department, in your own interest and that of road safety, drivers carry out a daily vehicle check. The check should take no more than 15 minutes and may save hours wasted on the roadside later in the day through a fault which could have been remedied at the start of the day.

Blowouts through under-inflated tyres (especially inner rear wheels) and overheating due to leaking radiator hose joints are typical failures experienced where daily checks are neglected.

To ensure that checks are properly carried out you should have a formal daily vehicle check list which the driver must complete at the beginning or the end of his working day. Such a list forms part of our Driver's Daily Log> system.

Our Walkaround Vehicle Check MiniCHARTS> also serve as a useful guide for the daily vehicle pre-inpection.
